HopeWest Hospice
Kelly Thompson, Program Director for the HopeWest Montrose Office, has been with HopeWest for the past 12 years.
He started with HopeWest as the Assistant Store Manager for Heirlooms for Hospice in 2014. Within four months, he had moved into the role of Store Manager and remained there for the next two years. When an opportunity to move into a position at the administrative office came available, Kelly jumped at the chance and served as the Volunteer Coordinator for the next two years.
In 2018, the Program Director position opened, and Kelly was asked to step in as the Director of Montrose/Ouray Counties for HopeWest. Although hospice work was never an aspiration or career goal for Kelly, he states it has been the most rewarding and best job he has ever had.
